Salma Abedi May Have Used Taxpayer-Funded Loans To Pay For His Terror Plot

by
The Manchester suicide bomber may have used taxpayer-funded loans to pay for his terror plot.

Police believe Salman Abedi paid for his travel to Libya, rent on three houses and even the bomb materials with student loans, given to him although he had dropped out of his degree.

The bomber's funds are a 'theme' in the investigation as officers probe how easily jihadists can manipulate the welfare and student loans system in Britain.

Abedi enrolled in a Business Administration degree in 2015 at Salford University and was given £7,000.

He was given another loan of £7,000 the next year, though he had already dropped out.

According to the Telegraph, one former detective said the university and student loan system is an easy way to finance activities.

Abedi did not have a job, but managed to pay for flights to Libya, where he received bomb-making training, and rented three apartments in Manchester, paying for one with cash.

He also withdrew £250 in cash three days before the attack and transferred £2,500 to his brother Hashim.

Salford University declined to tell the Telegraph if the Student Loans Company had been told he dropped out.

Kendall Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian Take Cannes (Photos)

by
We already know that the randos are out in full force for the 2017 Cannes Film Festival this year, but not only were sisters Kendall Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian not there to promote any movie, but also they acted as though they were not even aware that the festival was the main reason why everyone had flocked to the French Riviera.

“Romy and Michele Takes Cannes,” Kourtney Kardashian wrote beside an Instagram shot of herself and little sister Kendall Jenner sunning themselves on a yacht. In the pic, the beauties sport tiny, sparkling bikinis reminiscent of the dresses that Romy and Michele rocked at their high school reunion. The boat ride looks a lot more fun than a party in a gym, though… just sayin’. (Kendall Jenner might be too young for the reference. She posted a similar snap of the two and referenced a different flick: “Legally blonde vibe,” she wrote. Elle Woods would most certainly approve.) (Photo: Kourtney Kardashian via Instagram)

Instead, before the two left on Friday, they treated it as a chance for a weeklong glam yacht vacation to rival… well… any of their other yacht vacations.

Flamingo time! Kendall Jenner struck a pose in a pink ruffled bikini straddling a pink flamingo float. She finished her look with a straw hat and sunglasses and captioned the pic with a simple pink flower emoji. (Photo: Kendall Jenner via Instagram)

“Cannes you feel it,” Kourtney Kardashian wrote beside a shot of herself sunning herself on the bench of a yacht, sans bikini top. Her hands artfully covered her breasts, and she finished the post with an ever-so-appropriate thermometer emoji. Her friend, sitting beside her, didn’t look too impressed. (Photo: Kourtney Kardashian via Instagram)

”Meet us at the lido deck,” Kendall captioned a snap of herself, sister Kourtney, and a friend chilling in their bathing suits. Kendall sported a stunning white one-piece for the occasion, while Kourt donned a black suit with dramatic cut-out details. For some inexplicable reason, Kendall decided to put a suit jacket over her suit — but she’s a supermodel, so it kind of works. (Photo: Kendall Jenner via Instagram)

“Night life,” Kourtney wrote beside a pic of herself and Kendall chilling by the water’s edge. Though they weren’t technically in bathing suits, they both wore a shiny bra top with their wide-legged pajama pants. (Photo: Kourtney Kardashian via Instagram)

Facebook Founder, Mark Zuckerberg Gets Honorary Harvard Degree After Dropping Out

by
The founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg has returned to Harvard University under rainy skies to give a graduation speech and receive an honorary degree. The world’s fifth-richest person, worth $62.3bn (£48.1bn), famously dropped out of Harvard after launching the global social-networking website.

Mr Zuckerberg called for students to “not only create new jobs, but create a new sense of purpose”.
Political experts think he may be positioning himself to run for office.

During his remarks on Thursday, Mr Zuckerberg told graduates that “we live in an unstable time”.

“There’s pressure to turn inwards,” he said about those that feel left behind by increased globalisation.

“This is the struggle of our time. The forces of freedom, openness and global community against the forces of authoritarianism, isolationism and nationalism.”

With his wife, Priscilla, in the audience, he pointed to the dormitory where he launched Facebook, and remarked that meeting her there was the best thing to happen to him at the university.

Before giving remarks, he received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree during Harvard’s 366th graduation ceremony.

On Wednesday, he did a Facebook Live broadcast from his old dorm room.

“This is literally where I sat,” he says, pointing to a small wooden desk and chair inside Kirkland House, which is due to be renovated over the summer.

“I had my little laptop here. And this is where I programmed Facebook,” he tells the camera.

During his commencement address, Mr Zuckerberg told students: “There is something wrong with our system when I can leave here and make billions of dollars in ten years when millions of students can’t afford to pay off their loans, let alone start a business.

“When you don’t have the freedom to take your idea and turn it into a historic enterprise we all lose,” he continued.

He told stories of meeting “children in juvenile detention and opioid addicts, who told me their lives could have turned out differently if they just had something to do”.

The 33-year-old appeared to get choked up at one point during a story about an high school student who feared he would not be able to enrol in university because he was an undocumented immigrant.
More than 1.9 billion people log onto Facebook every day.

Since its launch in 2004, Facebook has inspired many other social media competitors, including Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram.

In 2007 another Harvard dropout returned for an honorary degree.

Bill Gates addressed students shortly after stepping down from the world’s largest software company, Microsoft, to launch to focus on his charity.

The German Foreign Minister, Sigmar Gabriel Is Not Quite Impressed With The Donald Trump Led Administration.

by
At the German-American Conference, a meeting of US and German government and business leaders that held in Berlin on Tuesday, Gabriel said, "admittedly, many things are irritating us.

We should not only respond to messages or tweets, we should ask what is our role in proactively shaping policy".

He's also not happy about the Trump Administration's threats to erect trade barriers and to pull out of the Paris Agreement on climate change saying "It's in the long-term interest of all of humanity that the US doesn't quit the Paris Agreement".

The Trump Administration has made it clear that it thinks Germany should spend a lot more money on its military. Tillerson says Germany can afford to spend at least 2% of its $3.5 trillion GDP on defense.

At the moment, Germany spends closer to 1%.

Nigeria’s Miss Anne-Marie Osawemwemze Imafidon will on Friday be decorated by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, with the prestigious honour of Member of the Most Excellent British Empire (MBE) for her services to young women with specialty in Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
The eldest daughter of Prof. Chris and Ann Imafidon from Edo State whose family has been dubbed the Brainiest Family in Europe, Anne-Marie holds the record of being the youngest girl to ever pass two GCSE examinations — for Mathematics and Information Technology and A-level computing at the age of 11 in Britain.

An MBE is an award given by the Queen to an individual for outstanding service to the community or local hands on service.

Due to her high exceptional brilliance, she received a British Scholarship to study Mathematics at the John Hopkins University at the age of 13 in 2003. Two years later, she commenced a degree at Oxford University after which she enrolled for her Masters degree setting another record of the youngest Masters degree holder from the Ivy league university.

Stemettes, which grants awards to young women, have programs workshops and events designed to introduce young women to STEM careers, concepts, and role models, have attracted over 7000 young women from across the UK, Ireland and Europe.

Imafidon’s rather unique achievements at a young age has stood her out as a person to watch out for by the British press; she was named on Evening Standard’s recent list of ’25 under 25s’ and a Guardian ‘Top 10 women in tech you need to know’ as well as being the UK IT Industry & British Computer Society’s Young IT Professional of the Year in 2013.

Her father, Professor Chris Imafidon, known as the patriarch of Britain's brainiest family, said he received the news last year of her inclusion in the 2017 honours list with shock.

The Imafidon family definitely have the achievers blood running in their DNA as not only Anne-Marie dominates their achievements wall of fame.

“The same God has given every child gifts and talents. We parents must join the ExcellenceinEducation.org.uk in developing such massive potential. As stated in my forthcoming book entitled "The Genius in
You", we can't use the old methodology of learning.

Schools and society must wake to the re-engineered system of education that understands that there is a genius in every child and greatness in every adult.

This genius is irrespective of ethnicity, gender, nationality, postcode, class or creed. So every family can equal or exceed our achievements.”

Prof Chris Imafidon who invented this accelerated academic and career development path, has tested it on people of diverse race and it produced the same or improved result and achievement as attain by his children. He stated that some of this exceptional educative methods are including in his book, "The Genuis in you."
He revealed that he will be visiting Nigeria very soon to launch the learning methodology to enable Nigerian parents learning of their winning ways while Anne-Marie will be expand Stemettes to also offer Nigeria young girls interested in pursuing a career in STEM an opportunity to realize their dreams while he
“Our grandparents taught us that charity begins at home. We are very enthusiastic about Africa and must contribute our quota to the training and education of young minds.

We want to launch a bigger program in Africa, particularly Nigeria and work with the corporate community, industry leaders so that we can deploy the re-engineered learning methodology of www.ExcellenceinEducation.org.uk program.

We know that with these programs young Nigerians can equal or exceed our record-breaking achievement. The next generation of Africans have no choice but excel because there is a genius in everyone.”
