He proposed to Kesha Ward, whom People referred to as his “longtime love.” The magazine noted that 2 Chainz (real name Tauheed Epps) also proposed to Ward at a BET awards show in 2013.
Reports varied about whether 2 Chainz and his lady love ever actually got married after his 2013 proposal. Yahoo Entertainment has reached out to 2 Chainz’s rep for clarification.
Ward was clearly moved by the artist’s seriously romantic gesture. The father of three including young daughters Heaven and Harmony, as well as baby boy Halo reportedly told Epps, “I want to marry you and be with you forever.”
Her response was, predictably, a happy one.
Of course, 2 Chainz is not the only celebrity who’s popped the question on the famous Met Gala steps. In 2004, future president Donald Trump proposed to future first lady Melania Trump at the same fete.
The pair were regulars at the ball from 2003 until 2012, but they weren’t there on Monday. Anna Wintour, the event’s host and editor-in-chief of Vogue, revealed during an October 2017 appearance on The Late Late Show With James Cordenthat Trump would not be invited again.
