Who will challenge WWE Champion Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania?

As another week passes on The Road to WrestleMania 33, the intrigue surrounding WWE Champion Bray Wyatt’s opponent at The Showcase of the Immortals grows only more intense.
Following an especially shocking turn of events on the Feb. 28 edition of SmackDown LIVE, it remains unclear who will officially challenge The Eater of Worlds for the WWE Title at WrestleMania — though both AJ Styles and Randy Orton now lay claim to that position.

Styles defeated Luke Harper in a match that was meant to determine the No. 1 contender to SmackDown LIVE’s top title once and for all. Little did The Phenomenal One realize, however, that WWE’s Apex Predator was about to reinsert himself into the conversation by dropping a disturbing bombshell on Wyatt before the night’s end.

The New Face of Fear watched in horror as Orton not only revealed he was coming for Wyatt’s WWE Championship at WrestleMania (an opportunity he earned by winning the 2017 Royal Rumble Match), but also torched The Wyatt Family’s compound, symbolically burning Sister Abigail’s spirit in the process.

In light of The Viper’s declaration and unsettling actions, a whirlwind of questions emerges. How will Wyatt rebound from the devastating setback of Orton snuffing out his source of power, Sister Abigail? Does Styles’ win supersede Orton’s championship pursuit, or is the Royal Rumble Match winner entitled to a one-on-one contest with Wyatt? Perhaps the waters have become so muddy that the only solution is for Team Blue’s powers-that-be to start anew.

Until SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon or General Manager Daniel Bryan signals a definite path, Bray Wyatt and the entire WWE Universe must continue to wonder.
