The former WWE Champion and eternal People's Champion announced late Monday (September 30) that he's coming back to the WWE Universe — and the millions and millions of The Rock's fans won't be waiting long to see him lay the smackdown!
"FINALLY…I come back home to my @WWE universe,” Johnson tweeted. “This FRIDAY NIGHT, I’ll return for our debut of SMACKDOWN! LIVE on @FOXTV. There’s no greater title than #thepeopleschamp. And there’s no place like home.”
WWE has also promised that "a host of other WWE Hall of Famers" will be appearing on the Fox premiere of Smackdown, including Ric Flair. Plus, The Undertaker will be turning up too!
Fast & Furious star Dwayne Johnson's return to the ring is a massive deal (even if it's just for one night) since he recently announced on Live with Kelly & Ryan that he'd hung up his wrestling boots for good.
