Police Arrests Suspected Cultist in Cult

The Ogun State Police Command says it has made a breakthrough in its fight against crime and criminality with the arrest of one of the most wanted cultist in the state, Micheal Agbeyangi a.k.a Alhaji Godonu.
State Police Spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, on Monday said the suspect was arrested at about 7:30 pm on Sunday, January 21 by police operatives attached to Owode-Egbado Division.

He also told Channels Television that the purported cultist had been on the wanted list of the Command for the past three years.
“The detectives from the Division through tactical intelligence discovered his hideout along Ado-Odo road and the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Muritala Agboola led his men to trail him to the place where he was promptly arrested,” he said.
“The suspect has been linked to several cult clashes in Owode-Egbado and its environs which have led to the death of many innocent citizens. Recovered from him are one axe, one sword, and assorted charms.”
Oyeyemi also explained that the State Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, had directed the suspect be transferred to the command’s Anti-Kidnapping and Cultist section for interrogation.
